Our past experience of communication with patients over phone calls/video calls when they wanted to follow up from other locations is helping now.

Online consultation results during lockdown have been good so far.
It's also good to see that many authorities  and associations worldwide are looking at online consultations as best way to reduce workload on hospital departments.

It is gaining momentum and trust slowly.

Physical well being needs care from physical health specialists

Human body has a great scope of recovery from pain.

Sometimes all you need is right guidance.

Treatment is not always necessary.

Various healthcare professionals try using fix dose of electrotherapy as it may be done for medication. PT works with a more flexible approach and electrotherapy is not the only treatment that PT offers.

Consult a Physio practitioner before taking a scan and before thinking of surgery.

Physical assessment by PT may simplify your diagnosis and treatment.

Trust your body and trust your Physio.

Exercise based physical rehabilitation is a slow but sure way to minimise relapses or recurrence of symptoms in most of the physical health conditions.

Preventive PT

Many people who can afford or who have health insurance coverage have become regular with health check ups.
We all know these tests include many things but not much of this directly relates to physical assessment.
When anyone develops slow onset knee arthritic pain or low back pain we must understand that we have missed out on that preventive phase where well regulated physical activity may have delayed the onset if not completely prevented it.
Physical Health though related to general physiological and other health parameters, is on it's own a big challenge to be maintained.
Visit your Physio for timely assessment if you see any changes in your physical abilities or if you have any kind of pain. Visiting your PT for an ultrasound therapy after you are already on a pain killer medication and expecting miracles when you have already booked a knee/ spine surgery date is exactly the way some of our cities letting pollution to reach it's peak before looking for solutions.
PTs may still be able to help you in these conditions but this is lot more stressful for both you and your PT.
In this, what may not work well is that you expect a certain defined pattern of recovery as described to you by non PT healthcare professionals. Medicine prescription may work in a fixed way but exercise prescription needs every day improvisation. So a PTs way of seeing a problem may be variable and you must trust that.
Also every patient must be aware of the phenomenon of over diagnosis which is applicable to both general health and physical health.
