2014, we moved to a new address.Started afresh in a new name. Continued our old school philosophy of being friends with patients. Thanks to all patients who kept trusting our ways, and ensured the transition was smooth.
This blog is an effort to emphasize the importance of physiotherapy in physical well being. A simple language sans medical terminology has been used to make the information understandable for the reader. Readers are requested, not to jump to any conclusions about their health merely reading these blogs. One should always seek medical advice in case of any health concerns.

दर्द से परेशान!!!!
These days we see different electromagnetic pain relief products being sold through tv and online. They claim to be free from any side effects, which depends on the usage.
If it was so easy to place electrodes anywhere on the body or use LASER on your own why would medical professionals need years of education? Knowledge of Anatomy and physiological effects of all such treatments is necessary for proper usage.

Coccydinia
Most cases of tail bone pain, do not relate it to any particular cause.Very few cases get it due to injury.Patients may not know what to do with the pain.X ray may help in ruling out a fracture, in case of injury related coccyinia. Most often physiotherapy, particularly thermal modalities may be very helpful. At times treatment may help the pain only temporarily and may take a few weeks to show significant improvement. In India coccyx manipulation is not a very popular technique but this is one effective way of treatment if performed.Very rarely, Coccygectomy or removal of tail bone by surgical intervention may become necessary.
I am writing this after meeting a case with Idiopathic Coccydinia. He has suffered for 9 months with no relevant treatment done.He did not know that physiotherapy may help.

Automatic Cars are better
Improve your choices to improve your health
It is a trend catching up in India, most manufacturers have at least one model of auto geared cars. These cars are very popular in many parts of the world but in India because of less fuel effeciency, nobody loved them so far.First auto cars entered Indian market around the same time as the launch of legendary Maruti 800. At that time they were known as cars for physically challenged. They required permission from various departments to be brought on road. These cars are good for a simple reason, that is less physical and mental stress. Stress levels in city traffic are high.It is easier to manoeuvre cars without gears, so the active involvement of central nervous system is eased up. Coming to physical stress, when your feet are constantly moving between accelerator, clutch and gear you are actually using the entire leg.Stress on hip, knee, ankle, heel and toes can not be avoided.Depending on good or bad techniques of driving, different people have different level of stress impact. For those who already suffer from spine related pain, driving auto gear vehicle is a good option to avoid further complication.

How Physiotherapy Treatment Works...
Physiotherapy treatment is not limited to ultrasound therapy,IFT, SWD and wax therapy only. When you meet your physio, you may undergo assessment procedures that include general physical tests, posture, gait, balance analysis and problem specific manual testing. If underlying problem is figured out correctly, treatment becomes very easy. Treatment plan works better if it is unique as per your requirement.Your active participation during follow up makes the plan successful. Your regular feedback helps in changing and upgrading the rehabilitation plan time to time. During the course of treatment your physical restrictions like pain and hypomobility are monitored to keep track of progress. Various means of treatment such as electrotherapy, exercises and manual therapy and active participation of patient thus make physical rehab a success. One very important aspect of electrotherapy is that though you may see only few modalities like Ultrasound,IFT,LASER,Muscle Stimulator etc. You may find your physio using the same things on many other patients but the fact is within each such modality, there is variety of programmes. So even your electrotherapy plan is generally unique where your physio makes choice of wavelength, frequency, dosage intensity and time duration depending on need.

Thanks to those who trust us...
We started moving on our path to success 8-9 years back and named our team of physios as physio-synchronized. This was probably the first of its kind effort as far as we know.We met people, shared the idea and employed physios who would earn for themselves. We maintained the channel between our team and patients. Other than our base camp at Koramangala, we were consulting at 8-9 different places. These included hospitals, sport academies, lifestyle management centres, old age homes, special schools and even sport events outside Bangalore.Regular job offers within the normal professional boundaries came in plenty because of our academic record but we were determined to move in a different direction. We were also a part of publishing a locality news paper, this helped us to propagate our idea to some extent.Internet had still not become a publicity tool for local business, still we tried our hands on creating web information as well. Back then fitness industry was setting in and physio set ups outside hospitals were rare. Most of the small hospitals and private nursing homes did not have even one physio specialist.Physio giving employment opportunities to other physios or being consultants outside routine hospital duties was not taken seriously even by some of our own colleagues and seniors. We made in roads where people did not even know what a physio does.We got in touch with fitness magazines to make sure they make physio opinion a part of there publication. We are proud of the facts mentioned above. It is good to see that in past few years, awareness about physiotherapy has changed and also physio clinics are coming up all over the city.We had to bring curtains down on team physio-synchronized in 2011,simply because we were over enthusiastic about carrying the idea forward and to provide benefit out of it to every one involved. What we earned out of it? Well! loads of experience, great satisfaction and appreciation of course. What about money? This is where we went wrong. Its not always that health professionals have a great business acumen. We do not graduate in business studies. What does future hold for us? God knows best. Our plans? To continue in the same stupid way as we have done for years, keep learning and upgrading our skills and as always, smile back at every little smile that comes our way. What about the path to success? Success is a subjective term and and road to success is almost always under construction.

Physio is more than just pain management
http://www.physicalhealthconsultants.com/the-physio-way.html
From the very beginning of medicine or treatment in ancient times, there have been two aspects of health
1)Physical
2)Physiological
These two aspects are inter related yet different from each other. Physical Health and how it affects general internal (physiological) health were well understood by our ancestors and that gave birth to the science of YOGA and other ancient exercise forms.Physical exercise in a well designed format is a part of ancient Indian and Chinese forms of treatment.
History suggests origin of physical health concepts in Asia. Interesting fact is that all modern form of exercise is either directly or indirectly based on the same old format which was suggested thousands of years back.
Present day Physiotherapy is a modern concept with a back ground in anatomy and physiology and it all started around world war II to rehabilitate wounded soldiers.Present day physiotherapist is well equipped with knowledge of human body structure and function.A physio also learns modern medicine (pharmacology).Use of electotherapy equipments like interferential therapy, trans cutaneous electro neural stimulation, ultrasound therapy LASER,infra red rays, mechanical cervical and lumbar traction compliment well with exercise.
It is the knowledge of Bio Mechanics which makes physiotherapists experts in analysis of physical functions and prescription of exercises /Manual Therapy interventions. Prescription of exercise is done based on individual capacity and requirement of the patient.
One may seek opinion of physiotherapist in most if not all health conditions.Diabetes, hypertension, cardio thoracic health, pregnancy related pains, endocrine disorders, insomnia, depression, stroke, cerebral palsy etc.are better treated by team work between specialist physician and physiotherapist, then by medication alone. Role of physiotherapy in mechanical and injury related conditions is well known already. On a broad understanding, one must know that role of physiotherapy extends in cancer related pain, post surgical lymphoedema, sinusitis and even skin conditions such as psoriasis.Sadly in Indian scenario both facilities and awareness still do not cover many such areas.
